GSPC to explore oil reserves in Egypt
Gandhinagar, Mar 11 (UNI) With Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) getting two offshore oil exploration projects in Egypt, the public sector company has made a decisive headway in the field of global oil research and exploration.
According to the two Memoranda of Understanding signed with the government of Egypt, GSPC has been selected for conducting oil research and exploration work in N Happy offshore project and in S Diyur onshore petroleum reserves located in western desert of Egypt, Minister of state for energy and petrochemicals Saurabh Patel said in the Assembly today.
Mr Patel said the GSPC was also instrumental in finding the nation's biggest oil reserve in Krishna-Godavari basin off shore projects in South India. The project has put GSPC on international map, Mr Patel added.
GSPC had earlier bagged three exploration blocks in Australia and three blocks in Yemen.
