Govt committed to educational reforms
New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Minister of State for Human Resource Development A Purandeswari today said the governmet was committed to carry forward the process of educational reforms in the eleventh plan period.
To a question during Question Hour, in the Rajya Sabha, she said, ''Educational reforms is a continuing process and the eleventh five year plan seeks to carry them forward through expansion, inclusion and rapid improvement in quality through institutional and policy reforms and by enhancing public spending.'' She said increasing number of PHDs from Indian universities, strengthening linkages between the universities and the scientific research institutions, inclusion of greater research component in post graduate programmes, strengthening research infrastructure, creation of research positions and enhancing fellowships are integral to reforms envisaged in the eleventh five year plan.
