Electrotherm launches Corrosion Resistant Steel bars

Ahmedabad, Mar 11 (UNI) Gujarat based Electrotherm (India) Limited has launched Corrosion Resistant Steel bars under the brand name of ''Electro CRS Gold'' to meet corrosion problem.

Avinash Bhandari, Director (Operations) of Electrotherm, said that electro CRS gold provides advantage over normal TMT bars in terms of corrosion resistant properties for a marginally higher cost. However, it gives advantages of longer life due to superior pitting corrosion resistance and high yield strength coupled with good ductility and bendability.

Mr Bhandari said that humidity and corrosion sets in and destroys concrete reinforced with steel. Solution to this problem is steel bars with chemical properties that improves its corrosion resistant properties and this reduces the rate of corrosion, he stated.
