Delimitation of zones will delay AP by-polls: LS
Vijayawada, Mar 11 (UNI) Lok Satta (LS) Party President Jai Prakash Narayan today said the by-polls to 16 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh, which fell vacant following the resignation of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members recently, will be delayed.
Addressing a press conference here, he said due to delimitation of zones, it would be impossible to hold elections in the next few months.
He said ''the Telangana issue should not be politicised. The politicians should not play with the sentiments of the people, though they have the right to demand for a separate state.'' As regards agriculture, he said the Centre should take up marketing of agriculture produce and provide remunerative prices to them to end farmers' suicide.
