Chief Secertary issue rocks House
Ranchi, Mar 11 (UNI) The issue involving controversial Chief Secretary P P Sharma today cropped up in the Jharkhand Assembly with the Opposition demanding a CBI inquiry and Chief Minister promising to look into the matter as per ''system'' only.
Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge of Parliamentary Affairs Stephen Marandi replied to a call attention motion by CPI(ML)'s Vinod Singh regarding the issue, saying the government would take up the matter as per law.
The Opposition alleged that the Chief Secretary indulged in financial irregularities and he should be removed.
As they continued to press hard even going to the well, some members from the Treasury suggested to the Minister that the members, who were always ''disturbing'' the House proceedings, should be suspended till the session ends.
Miffed at it, BJP's Raghubar Das staged a walkout.
Chief Minister Madhu Koda intervened, saying the government would certainly inquire into the matter only as per system.
The Opposition shouted slogans, demanding immediate action following which Speaker Alamgir Alam adjorned the House till the recess.
