40 litre water per individual being provided: Govt
Bhopal, Mar 11: The government today claimed in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly that 40 litre water per day per individual was being provided in 2418 habitats in Rajgarh district identified as problem villages.
Replying to a call attention notice moved by Mr Harcharan Tiwari, Public Health Engineering Minister Choudhary Chandrabhan Singh said the targetted water supply would be ensured in 87 habitats where water scarcity was solved to an extent. Mr Tiwari claimed that about 50 per cent habitats were fluoride affected and the problem was increasing with the depletion of water level.
The minister assured that in those areas where water problem was acute water supply would be ensured in the summer season by transporting it from other areas.
