Violent clashes at Panchla area, RAF deployed

Howrah, Mar 10: Violent clashes erupted between rival groups of two colonies at Millbazar area under Panchla, here today.

Police said the incident occurred following a dispute over gold transaction at a jewellery shop. Rapid Action Force team has been deployed to control the situation, police said adding the forces fired teargas shells and lathi charged the irate mob. Sources alleged that the police also resorted to firing.

However, no official reports of anyone injured were received so far.
