Violent clashes at Panchla area

Howrah, Mar 10: Violent clashes erupted between rival groups of two colonies at Millbazar area under Panchla here today. Police said the incident occurred following a dispute over some gold transaction at a jewellery shop.

Police said a Rapid Action Force team has been deployed to control the situation adding that the forces even fired teargas shells and lathicharged the irate mob. Sources alleged that police also resorted to firing. However, no official reports of anyone injured were received so far.
