Union Minister's relatives drown during swim

Kanniyakumari, Tamil Nadu, Mar 10 (UNI) Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi's two nephews drowned during a swim in the Sirur Dam of this district on March 8.

Police said Sibi (28), son of the Minister's sister, and Manu (36), Mr Ravi's brother's son, had gone for a swim in the dam along with their friends when the mishap occurred.

Fire Service Personnel and Police had retrieved the body of Sibi but they could not find Manu.

District Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar is camping at the site of the accident.

Sibi was working as a manager at the Kochi Airport. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Manu, a painting contractor, is survived by his wife and daughter, police added.
