Tukdoji Maharaj University wins NSS award

Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University at Nagpur in Maharashtra has won the 2006-07 state-level National Services Scheme (NSS) award.

Programme Coordinator award was announced for Bhau Daydar of the same university.

The University award consists of a memento, whereas Programme Coordinator award consists of a memento and Rs 10,000 cash, a release said here today.

At the college level, the awards were declared to Anand Dhonde alias Babaji College, Beed; Kirti College, Mumbai; Shankarrao Mohite College, Akluj, District Solapur and SNDT College of Home Science, Pune.

Programme Co-ordinator award was announced for Prof Ramkrishna Bodke, Dr Hemant Pednekar, Prof Hanumant K Avatade and Prof Sulakshana G Shinde will be given a memento and cash prize of Rs 5,000.

Also, 16 best social workers will be felicitated and bestowed with a memento and cash prize of Rs 2,000.

They are Shubhangi Ravindra Bhosle (Kolhapur); Uttam Mohan Aglave (Rahuri); Neha Kishore Mishra (Nagpur); Zarin Mehboob Sayyed (Beed); Pallavi Rohidas Mirajkar (Solapur); Naina Raghunath Rajvan, Anamika Channappa Lad (Mumbai); Divyashri Jain, Neeraj Mohan Jadhav, Kishore Dhondiram Raktate (Pune); Nandkishore Sudhakarrao Thombre (Akola); Prathmesh Hanmant Ghorpade (Parbhani); KAshwini Jaypal Patil (Dapoli); Meenal Bhaurao Gole (Jalgaon); Sumit Chandrakantrao Med (Nanded) and Pavankumar Sudhakar Sonawane (Nashik), it added.

The state-level NSS awards are given on the lines of Central Government.
