REL to be renamed as Reliance Infrastructure Limited
Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) India's private sector energy major Reliance Energy Limited (REL) today said its board of directors have approved to rename the company as 'Reliance Infrastructure Limited' and will seek shareholders' approval soon.
REL, which has been already in infrastructure vertical like metro rail, highways and roads, would change its name to adequately reflect nature of business and future vision of the company, REL said in a statement today.
REL is the largest private player in the electricity sector across the entire value chain including generation, transmission, distribution, trading and EPC. However, over the past two and half years, the company has emerged as a leader in all areas of infrastructure business, a senior official added.
