PUNSUP manager commits suicide due to 'office stress'
Kapurthala, Mar 10 (UNI) A district manager of Punjab State Civil Supply Corporation (PUNSUP) today hanged himself allegedly due to office related stress.
According to police sources, the body of 53-year-old Amarjit Singh Saini, who was posted here as District Manager, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house at Prem Nagar locality. He was living alone as his family is settled in Mohali.
In a suicide note recovered from the spot, he had blamed the department for the "undue official stress" which forced him to take this extreme step.
In the suicide note, Saini, who is survived by his wife, son and a daughter, had advised his wife not to get a job in the PUNSUP department on the compassionate ground after his death.
The incident came to the notice in the morning when a driver of the department came to his house. When Saini did not open the door, the driver informed the department and the police. The police immediately rushed to the spot and found his body hanging in a room.
The police had registered a case and further investigating the matter.
