Women reservation: NFIW takes out procession
Puducherry, Mar 10: Volunteers of the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) took out a procession to press for the provision of 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state Legislatures today.
The procession, inaugurated by CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathanat at the Singara Velar statue here, passed through main thoroughfares and culminated in front of the Legisltive Assembly where CPI national council member R Viswanathan addressed them. Their demands also included curbing price rise of essential commodities and introduction of ''women's only'' buses in Puducherry.
