Maoists shoot dead DYFI activist in West Midnapore

Lalgarh, Mar 10: Suspected maoists gunned down a DYFI activist in Sijua village under Lalgarh police station in West Midnapore district late last night.

District Magistrate N S Nigam informed here today that a few masked men attacked Buddhadeb Pathak (21) while he was returning home after attending a party meeting. Mr Nigam also said that a big contigent of police led by District Superintendent of Police R Rajasekharan was combing in the areas to nab the miscreants.

No arrests have been made so far, he added.
