Mafia-turned legislator demands security

Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) After Mukhtar Ansari, now another mafia turned politician Dhananjay Singh raised the issue of his security in the Uttar Pradesh assembly today and apprehended threat on his life.

Raising through a call attention motion in the assembly, Dhananjay said his security has been withdrawn even after Intelligence Bureau(IB) had issued warning over threat on his life.

''Security was provided to me by Ms Mayawati during her last regime in 2002 after an unsuccessful attempt on my life'', he said.

Making a specific reference to the IB report about threat to his life the Janata Dal(United) MLA pleaded for his security.

However, the treasury bench did not take any notice on the legislator's plea.

Earlier another mafia don and independent MLA Mukhtar Ansari had apprehended similar threat to his life in the house.
