journalist Raut, Industrialist Dhoot sena RS nominees
Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray today announced that Videocon owner Rajkumar Dhoot and Bharatkumar Raut, Editor of Maharashtra Times, a Marathi publication of Bennett and coleman co. will be candidates of the party for the binennial Rajya sabha elections, scheduled to be held on March 26.
Shiv Sena has a strength of 56 and BJP 54 in the assembly. The quota for the RS nominee to get elected is 37.
Earlier, Shiv Sena had Eknath Thakur and Dhoot as its members in the Rajya Sabha.
Mr Raut will be the second journalist from the party in Rajya sabha. The other is Sanjay Raut, executive editor of the shiv sena mouthpiece Saamna.
