Nitte (Karkala), Mar 10 (UNI) While many countries around the world would have deficit population by 2020, India would have 40 per cent excess population, which could be turned to our advantage for exporting them to other countries with proper training, said H R Alva, the former Chairman of Hindustan Photo Films Ltd(HPFL), here today.

Inaugurating a seminar on 'Management Education Industry Expectations and Academic Responses', organised by Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management here, he said only 20 per cent of the Industries had become global and it was expected to increase by another 30 per cent in 2020. The companies, including the Institute should train students to get themselves equipped to meet the global expectation, he added.

Mr Alva said only 25 to 30 per cent students were emerging with success in educational Institutions, including management and engineering. only 25 to 30 per cent students were fit for employment, while others required adequate training before absorbing them suitably, he added.

He said the Industry should should take steps to reduce cost of training and its duration. The Institutions should ensure that students get enough exposure to meet the requirements of Industries, he added.
