HC condemns UP govt for denouncing Central Budget
Lucknow, Mar 10 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today sought the reply of the Uttar Pradesh government for denouncing the Central Budget and its advertisement promising employment to people of a particular community.
A bench comprising Justices U K Dhawan and Devi Prasad Singh was acting on a PIL filed by the Naitik Party.
The petition stated neither the state government could criticise the Central Budget nor it could vow to provide employment to over one lakh people of the Balmiki community through an advertisement.
The PIL added it was against the Constitution to publish such ads by ''misutilising'' government funds.
Since the state government sought two weeks' time to reply in this regard, the court posted the case for the next hearing on March 14.
