Faridabad youth arrested in rape case in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 10: Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested a youth hailing from Faridabad, who was wanted in a rape case since August 2007.

The youth identified as vaneet kak, resident of Indraprasth Colony, Faridabad was apprehended by the police yesterday, who was staying at a friend's residence, police told to the sources. ''Four people were involved in a rape case in August last year in Talab Tillo area of the city. Three of them were arrested while Vaneet Kak was absconding,'' police said.

A team was constituted and raids were conducted by the police in Jammu and Faridabad as well but he could not be located. ''He had come to Jammu and was staying at a friend's house. In a surprise raid, he was arrested from Rehari area,'' police said.

However, case under sections 366, 376, 343 and 109 RPC has already been registered against the accused at Nowabad police station.
