Fake currency racket busted in Bihar
Darbhanga, Mar 10 (UNI) The Bihar police busted a fake currency racket here last night and recovered notes worth Rs 40,000 from a local youth.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Parvez Akhtar told UNI here today that acting on a tip-off a team of plain clothes policemen laid a trap and arrested the youth,identified as one Harinandan,from near the university campus area here.
Fake currency notes of different denominations were recovered from him, Mr Akhtar said, adding the youth was being interrogated to trace other members of the susepected inter-state gang and their modus operandi.
Earlier, he purchased items from a grocery shop and gave several one hundred rupee notes to the shopkeeper towards payment. The suspicious shopkeeper informed the police.
