CGHS employees withdraw indefinite strike
New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) The indefinite strike, in protest against privatisation, from tomorrow by nearly 7,000 CGHS employees across the country was tonight called off.
The agitation was withdrawn after the Union Health Ministry agreed to fulfil the demands of the All India CGHS Employees' Association during a meeting.
''The Joint Secretary told us that work will be outsourced except sanitation and cleanliness,'' Association Secretary General Ram Kishan said.
He said all Grade C and D employees, who had become surplus due to abolition of the post will be adjusted in the same city.
The employees were demanding that the Health Ministry should cancel the contract of BVG India Limited employees, who have replaced Group D staff in the service.
