BJP hints at Uma's return to party

Agra, Mar 10 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice-president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh today said Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) president Uma Bharati could return to the BJP, if the party desired so.

Mr Singh expressed this after having a conversation with Ms Bharati during a programme here yesterday.

''If we will make efforts, then the BJS chief can again join the party,'' the senior BJP leader maintained.

Criticising the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre, Mr Singh said, ''It was due to the Centre's appeasement policy that terrorist Afzal Guru was yet to be hanged.'' UNI JAS SHB HT1432
