Three drown in Cauvery in Tamil Nadu

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 10: Three persons drowned in River Cauvery at Kavutharasanallur Village near Grand Anicut, near here, yesterday.

Police said the deceased were identified as Ebinesar (23), John Philip (19) and Maruthairaj (23) of Tiruverumbur and Kottapattu Areas. They were working in a call centre. They went to the river to take bath when they were caught in the loose soil and drowned. On the information, Fire Service Personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies of Ebinesar and John Philip and sent them to the Government Hospital at Srirangam for post-mortem.

Efforts were on to recover the body of Maruthairaj, police said.
