Top HM commander arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 9 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a self-styled District Commander (DC) of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) without any resistance in south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said they conducted a search operation at village Maratgam in the frontier district of Kupwara, following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
He said during the operation police arrested Mushtaq Ahmad Malla alias Furqan, the DC of HM, and recovered one AK rifle, three magazines, 81 rounds of ammunition, three hand grenades, one pouch and three detonators.
The militant was involved in a number of killings and other militancy-related incidents, he added.
