TDP demands House Committee on irrigation projects
Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government appoint a House Committee on irrigation projects taken up by the government to ensure quality in construction.
Addressing a press conference here, party spokesmen M Narasimhulu and V Madhusudanachari alleged that the projects, including the Devadula Irrigation Project, lacked quality.
They alleged that the government was 'hurriedly' completing the Devadula project in view of Congress President Sonia Gandhi's proposed visit to the site on March 14, during her state visit.
They said leakages found in its trial runs were indicative of its sub-standard construction.
