PR Dasmunsi slams WB CM for dismissing Prasad Ranjan Roy

Durgapur, Mar 09 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for removing Prasad Ranjan Roy from the post of the state Home Secretary.

Addressing a press conference here at the Golden Jubilee function of the Durgapur Project Limited Workers' Union, the Union Minister, who is also the state Pradesh Congress Committee president, criticised the state government's recent decision, saying, ''The Chief Minister has blatantly surrendered to the wishes of his party supporters and dismissed Prasad Ranjan Roy.'' On the question of forming pre-poll alliance before the Panchayat elections in the state, Mr Dasmunsi said, ''I welcome all the anti-Left parties to be unified and fight the battle.'' He also responded favourably to the long-pending demands of the union workers and assured them that the Centre would extend all-out cooperation to the workers.
