PDP expels former J
Jammu, Mar 9 (UNI) People's Democratic Party (PDP) today expelled its former minister and sitting MLA Ghulam Hassan Mir from the membership of the party.
The disciplinary committee headed by senior PDP leader Abdul Aziz Zargar announced the expulsion of Mr Mir, who was accused of ''indulging into the anti-party activities.'' There have been strong differences between the PDP leadership and Mr Mir, who was once aspiring for the Deputy Chief Minister's post.
The former Tourism Minister in the PDP-led coalition government in J&K, who represents Tangmarg constituency in the Legislative Assembly, has been criticising the policies and programmes of the PDP.
Mr Mir, a founder-member of the PDP, was suspended earlier in April 2006 for alleged anti-party activities.
