Man kills woman, injures three
Nashik, Mar 9 (UNI) A 56-year-old man, who allegedly killed a woman and critically injured her three children, succumbed to his burns in the District Civil Hospital, here today.
Changdev Gunjal (56), allegedly poisoned Babita Waghmare (45) and her three children, Asha (11), Ganesh (14) and Surekha (21). He also attacked them with a grass sickle and tried to set Babita on fire.
He later set himself ablaze, police said.
Gunjal, who was admitted to the hospital along with the three children, died at 1115 hrs, police stated.
According to police, Babita, who is a widow was living with Gunjal and her three children in a house owned by Gunjal at the Shreehans Park in Satpur suburb of the city. However Gunjal wanted Babita to vacate the house for his daughter, which she refused to do. Angry over this Gunjal attacked the women and her children.
Babita died on the spot, while the condition of the three children continues to be critical, police added.
