Kumaraswamy to launch party campaign from tomorrow
Bangalore, Mar 9 (UNI) With the elections to Karnataka Assembly round the corner, former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy will undertake a 20-day whirlwind tour from tomorrow.
The star campaigner of JD(S) has fully recovered from a heart surgery he underwent recently and would now tour as many as 23 districts in his first of 'Jaithra Yathra'.
The popularity of Mr Kumaraswamy would put to a test during the campaign trail after had drew flak from different quarters for his 'betrayal' of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after 'enjoying' power with the latter's support for 20 months.
During his campaign he is likely to raise the issues of his government's popular schemes including farm loan waiver, ban of lotteries and sale of arrack, besides his 'Village stay' and 'Janatha Darshan' programmes.
The Yathra is intended galvanise the party which had been hit by desertion of important leaders including former Deputy Chief Ministers Siddramaiah and M P Prakash, former minister G T Deve Gowda and hosts of former ministers and legislators.
