Charges filed against Zilla Sainik Welfare officer

Srinagar, Mar 9 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police Crime Branch (CB) has filed charges in a court here against a senior officer of Zilla Sainik Welfare department for allegedly misappropriating lakhs of rupees.

A CB spokesman today said a tip-off was received that Assistant Secretary, incharge of welfare department, Mohammad Amin Dar, had indulged in embezzlement of lakhs of rupees.

He said an investigation was on and it was found that Dar has abused his official position and bungled lakhs of rupees of the welfare department.

Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, the CB prepared a chargesheet against Dar and filed it in the court.
