BJP should apologise: Opposition leader
Kannur, Mar 9 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly and Congress leader Oommen Chandy today said the BJP should apologise for attacking the AKG Bhavan, CPI(M) national headquarters.
Ending his day-long fast, he asked Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan to convene an all-party meeting for restoring peace in Kannur.
The political parties should protest not with stones, but in a democratic way, Mr Chandy said.
He said the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Congress were opposed to all types of violence and urged that the BJP and the CPI(M) should end the ''war of weapons''.
Stating that the rule of law had failed in the state, he said no arrests had been made so far.
