Altercation during Pondy BJP meet

Puducherry, Mar 9: Two sections of BJP volunteers today had an altercation at the executive committee meeting of the party here today disrupting the meeting.

Eight office-bearers of the party were earlier suspended by Party President M Visweswaran.

However, the office-bearers entered the hotel hall where the meeting under the chairmanship of Party Organising Secretary Ram Lal was going on. This was objected to by Mr Visweswaran's supporters resulting in the altercation.

Mr Lal invited both the sections to his room, held a closed door meeting with them and sorted the issue.
