World Cong delegates hold candlelight march against nuclear weapons
New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Participants of the 18th World Congress of International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War today took out a candlelight procession against proliferation of nuclear weapons and small arms here this evening.
The procession, which started from Jantar Mantar, concluded at Constitution Club amid chanting of slogans against nuclear weapons and small arms.
Holding banners denouncing nuclear weapons and spending on them, the participants demanded that the money instead be utilised on health and education.
The 18th World Congress of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) will be held from March 9 March 11 here. This congress is being held first time ever in South Asia. It is being organised jointly by Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) and IPPNW.
