UNI Supreme Court correspondent A K Singh dead

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Senior journalist and UNI's Supreme Court correspondent Awadh Kishore Singh passed away here early today.

He was 76.

Singh breathed his last at his Dilshad garden residence at 0130 hrs.

He is survived by his sister Raka Singh and younger brother.

Singh, known for his straight-forwardness, started his career as a journalist in Allahabad and worked as chief reporter with the National Herald. Besides his stint with the Statesman, Singh worked with UNI till his death.

According to family sources, Singh felt uneasiness at night and was taken to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where he was declared dead.

He had been working with the UNI as a Supreme Court correspondent for over 20 years. Singh was the seniormost journalist in the Apex Court's press lounge and had attended the court even a day before his demise.

Singh was known for his outstanding contribution in the field of journalism.

His body will be cremated at Nigambodh Ghat at about 1100 hrs.
