Pondy celebrates International Women's Day

Puducherry, Mar 8 (UNI) Several political parties and organisations in the Union Territory celebrated the International Women's Day here today.

Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee organised a meeting at the party office to celebrate the Day, while the Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) conducted a special conference in which party's founder-President P Kannan participated as the Chief Guest.

The Food and Nutrition Board of the Union government and the Social Service Women's Development Centre organised a procession through the main thoroughfares of the town. A seminar would also be held later in the day.
