Malayalam film editor-director passes away
Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) Well known Malayalam film personality, editor-director M S Mani died at the Apollo Hospital here today following brief illness, according to family sources.
He was 81 and is survived by wife Seethamani.
Mr Mani, who hailed from Poojapura in Thiruvananthapuram district, settled down here in 1943. He was associated with noted Director Hariharan in Malayalam cinema. Out of the 300 films, which Mr Mani had edited, 45 were that of Hariharan. He also directed seven films, including 'Doctor', 'Sathyabhama', 'Subaida', 'Thalirukal' 'Vilakkapatta bandhangal' and 'Jalakannyaka'.
Mani had won two national awards and a few Kerala state governemnt awards, in appreciation of his work.
