Loan racket busted, FIR against 41

Samastipur, Mar 8 (UNI) Police today busted a loan racket here and filed FIRs against 41 people, who allegedly took loans from Union Bank of India by furnishing fake documents.

Police said the accused, including farmers and businessmen, had taken loans from the bank's Varisnagar branch.

Police initiated investigation after being tipped off from Vasirnagar branch manager Rajendra Rai.

Another manager of the same branch, Ratan Kumar Singh, was shot dead by some unidentified criminals on November six, 2007.
