Keeling's mother seeks action against police
Panaji, Mar 8 (UNI) The mother of British teenager Scarlet Keeling, who was found dead at at Anjuna beach in North Goa on February 18, has decided to lodge a formal complaint with the police, urging action against the police personnel who tried to ''close the case as natural death due to drowning''.
Her advocate Vikram Varma, who got a copy of the second autopsy report tonight from the police, said he would also ask the police to convert the case into ''rape and murder'' with immediate effect besides launching a departmental probe into the conduct of the police personnel.
He said the team of doctors of the Goa Medical College and Hospital, who conducted the second autopsy on the demand of the victim's mother, found 50 ante-mortem bruises on Scarlert's body besides other injuries.
The doctors said the death could have occurred betwen 0430 hrs and 0600 hrs and the case should be treated as homicide for further investigation, Mr Varma added.
