Haryana issues notification for two Rajya Sabha seats
Chandigarh, Mar 8 (UNI) Haryana assembly today issued the notification regarding the Biennial Election of Rajya Sabha to fill the two seats in the Council of States.
The notice to fill two seats in the Council of States on the retirement of two members on April 9, 2008 from Haryana was issued by state assembly Secretary Sumit Kumar, who is also the Returning Officer for the election.
The poll shall, if necessary, be taken on March 26, 2008 in the Old Committee Room Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, in pursuance of the Election Commission's Notification, it said.
The nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposers to the Returning Officer or to Additional Secretary and Assistant Returning Officer Kuldip Singh, at their offices in Haryana Vidhan Sabha, not later than March 15.
The date of scrutiny of nominations was March 17 and last date for withdrawal of candidature would be March 19, the notification said.
