Fire in an industrial units causes Rs 50 lakh loss
Una, Mar 8 (UNI) A devastating fire broke out at an industrial unit, Balaji Manganese, in the Amb area of Una district of Himachal Pradesh today, causing an estimated loss of Rs 50 lakh, police said.
According to unit owner Pawan Bansal, a short circuit in the campus started the fire, which soon spread to the 700 metric tonnes of coal dumped in the premises.
The police said the fire personnel and local people battled fierce flames for over seven hours before bringing it under control.
The fire guttered the unit's machinery and other raw material and caused an estimates loss of Rs 50 lakh, it said that a case has been registered and investigations are on.
