Case against Sacha Sauda case deferred till March 29

Ambala, Mar 8 (UNI) Special CBI Judge R K Saini today deferred the hearing of the murder and rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh to March 29.

The Sirsa-based Dera Chief did not appear in the court today as he had already sought exemption due to illness.

He is facing two cases of murder-- one of a journalist Ram Chander Chhatarpati and other of his dera manager Ranjit Singh -- besides, a case accusuing him of raping a sadhvi of the Dera.

The advocates from the CBI and the defendants were present in the court.

Thousands of followers of the Dera chief, who had started gathering in the HUDA grounds, returned disappointed after they learnt that the Baba had not come.

However, the Police had made elaborate security arrangements as was done on previous occasions of his dates.
