Buta Singh ready to enter electoral field
Chandigarh, Mar 8 (UNI) National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Chairman Buta Singh is ready to enter the electoral battlefield, but is waiting for a ''signal'' from the Congress high command.
''I am a loyal soldier of the party (Cong) and will certainly contest the next Lok Sabha polls, if my party desires,'' he said while talking to the media here today.
Asked about his preferences, the former Bihar Governor said that he would contest from any state or constituency that the Congress identifies for him. He ,however, hastened to add that the Jalore Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan was no longer reserved.
Regarding Punjab, his home state, he again indicated that he was willing to contest from any seat. Mr Singh has represented Ropar in Punjab and Jalore in Rajasthan in the Lok Sabha.
