Uttar Pradesh: Nine died in road mishap

Kanpur, Mar 8: Nine people were killed and five seriously injured when a jeep rammed into a roadside tree in Sajeti station area here late last night, police said today.

The incident occurred at Kanpur-Hamirpur road when the ill-fated jeep hit against the tree, killing nine people on the spot. The injured were admitted to the Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. The dead bodies had been sent for postmortem, the police said.
