59 in preventive custody to contain violence in Kerala dist
Kannur, Mar 8 (UNI) In a bid to enforce law and order in trouble-torn areas in the district, which witnessed seven political murders since March 5, police have taken 59 CPI(M) and BJP/RSS activists into preventive custody, Additional Director General of Police K S Jangpangi said today.
A Special team would investigate the murder and political violence, he told newspersons here.
More than 1,000 police personnel were deployed in politically-sensitive areas, he added.
