Vikramotsav in MP town from March 31
Indore, Mar 7 (UNI) A seven-day 'Vikramotsav' felicitations at Vikram University of Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district is scheduled from March 31.
The main attraction of this function would be a four-day play on king Vikramaditya. Besides this, light and classical music, classical dance and all india poet convention, symposiums and convention of astrologists at all India level.
''The play would be staged at Ujjian-based Guru Golwalkar Sports Complex from March 31,'' said Organising Committee Partner and Ujjain Development Authority President Mohan Yadav told to the reporters here today, adding that total five stages, including 80x30 foot high three-storeyed central stage, 30x30 foot two stages high, would be erected.
Play's Director Sanjeev Malviya said myriad chapters of kings life period would be depicted and more than 250 performers, 25 horses, two elephants, a palanquin, a chariot and two camels would be the part of the play.
''There is a planning to stage the 'mahanatya' in other cities of the country as well,'' he said. .
Mr Yadav said that the main function of this felicitation would be carried out at Kshipra River's Ramghat area. In this programme singer Kumar Sanu would be honoured with Vikramaditya Sangeet Alankaran and Rs 1 lakh and a citation would also be presented to him. The book 'Adi Vikramaditya' written by Archaeologist Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit would also be released on that day.
