'Need to connect religions for global peace'

''We ought to connect all religions so that their fragrance engulfs the entire universe,'' the missile man said here.

The former President said, ''Each and every religion is an exquisite garden full of surpassing beauty and tranquility, like sacred groves filled with beautiful birds and their melodious chirping. They are enchanting islands, veritable oasis for the soul and spirit.'' ''If we can connect all islands with the bridge of love and compassion, as a garland, we would have a peaceful and prosperous world'', he underlined. Dr Kalam said, ''Where there is righteousness in heart, there is beauty in character, harmony in home, order in the nation and peace in the world.''
