New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Cool winds today led to a slight drop in mercury in the Capital to 32.6 degree Celsius.

The cool winds led to a drop in maximum temperature, from 34.7 degree C yesterday, to 32.6 degree C.

However, warmth in air continued as the maximum remained five degrees above normal.

Also, the minimum temperature today rose to 17.2 degree C, three degrees above normal.

Some drop in mercury could be witnessed towards the beginning of the next week with weathermen forecasting some rain or thundershowers from March 10 under the influence of a fresh western disturbance.

''A fresh western disturbance is likely to cause isolated to scattered precipitation activity over plains of northwest India from March 10 onwards. The current meteorological analysis suggests that the present scenario of maximum temperature in northwest India is likely to persist during next 2-3 days and slight fall thereafter,''the met office said.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with a maximum temperature of 33 degree C tomorrow.
