Opp walks out over hacking of official website
Patna, Mar 6 (UNI) The Opposition today an staged a noisy walk out in the Bihar Assembly in protest against rejection of their adjournment motion over screening of sleazy films on the Bihar government's official website.
Soon after the Question Hour, Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhry turned down the adjournment motion of RJD member Shyam Rajak and others. The RJD members had requested the Chair to accept their adjournment motion in view of the seriousness of the issue.
Intervening in the matter, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said it was the handiwork of some hackers and the government was not at all responsible for that. However, steps had been taken to prevent such happenings in future.
With the initiation of the Zero hour proceedings, Mr Ramchandra Purvey(RJD) raised the point of order saying that the government should make some statement on the issue once the related adjournment motion was rejected. He further added that the Opposition should also be allowed to share their opinions in view of the brief clarification by the government.
The Speaker, however, said while turning down the adjournment motion that he had not allowed anyone to speak on the matter. At this the Opposition became agitated and walked out of the Lower House shouting anti-government slogans.
Earlier, the Speaker had also rejected an adjournment motion of LJP member Achutanand and others over provocative statements of Shiv Sena leader and the attacks on people of Bihar living in Maharashtra.
