Maha Guv Krishna may resign to return to Karnataka poll battle
New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna may submit his resignation to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil here this evening during his meeting with her.
Mr Krishna's appointment with the President is fixed for 1845 hrs, Rashtrapati Bhawan sources said.
The former Karnataka chief minister, who had been itching to go back to his home state for quite some time, has got nod of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The term of President's rule in Karnataka after fall of the H D Kumaraswamy government expires in May. Mr Krishna's decision to resign as the Governor is being seen in line with his wish to join the political battle in his home state which would go to polls soon after the expiry of the President's rule.
