Hauta launches agitation to press for demands
Hisar, Mar 6 (UNI) Haryana Agricultural University Teachers Association (HAUTA) has launched agitation in protest against the indifferent attitude of the authorities towards its long-pending demands.
Dr Rakesh Mehra, secrertary of HAUTA, told mediapersons correspondent here today that they staged 'dharna' yeaterday and would again gather in front of Vice-Chancellor's office tomorrow to draw the attention of the V-C to our genuine demands which include: two advance increments under merit promotion scheme, to equate the payscale of teachers appointed before and after January 1, 1996 and regularise the services of Research Associates." Dr Mehra said, "We had given a charter of demand and later discussed the issues with the administration but till today the promises are mere promises. The Senior Technical Assistants await promotion, the decision of the High Court about Researc Assistants is yet to be implemented, the superannuation age is to be extended to 62 years instead of 60 ." Dr Mehra alleged that teachers are being victimised through transfers, chargesheets, and suspension and this has created strong resentment among the teachers and scientists.
